East-West Medical College & Hospital is a leading medical institute in Bangladesh. This institute is located at Aichi Nagar, JBCS Saroni, Khairtak, Turag, Dhaka, Bangladesh. This institution is one of the organization of Aichi Medical group and it runs under Alim foundation.
Aichi group was established by Prof. Dr. Moazzem Hossain MBBS, STPS (England) Ph.D. (Japan) in the year 1996. Our founder chairman has studied Nagoya University in Japan for 4 years with the support of Bangladesh government and has earned Gold Medal for outstanding results in his field from government of Japan. After returning back to Bangladesh, he started to fulfil his dream of taking the health care of Bangladesh to international level . With the vow of developing our health care sector this group now operates one medical college, dental university, nursing university, medical technology institute and two hospitals.
Founders of Alim Foundation
Abdul Alim Mia, a well known philanthropist, was born in Nagarkanda, Faridpur in 1926. He completed his Matriculation form Nagarkanda High School and he obtained Diploma on Health Science in the year 1948. He was one of the honorable members of Governing body of Nagarkanda High School for long time and he was well renowned for his contributions towards society as a social worker. He spent his whole life to serve the humanity and under privileged people. Moreover, his active role as freedom fighter in the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971 is un-deniable. He was blessed with six sons and two daughters and among them Dr. Md. Moazzem Hossain, Founder Chairman of Alim Foundation, is his second son. He died in 1979.
We remember Kaniz Tania Sweety was one of our founder Director of Alim Foundation and Managing Director of East-West Medical College. She was born in July 01, 1970 and completed her graduation from Home Economics College, Dhaka in 1990 & then married to Dr. Md. Moazzem Hossain and went to Nagoya, Japan for higher study on Hospital Management. She was also the founder Director of Aichi Hospital, Uttara & spent her whole life to serve the poor and distressed people. She worked as an architect to build up East-West Medical College & Hospital. Suddenly, she died in July 16, 2009.
